A serial entrepreneur and named by Wareable.com as one of the world’s most important influencers in wearable tech, Liz is the visionary who brought accurate, wrist worn heart rate monitoring to the world of performance sport training.  Giving up her senior executive job in high tech in 2000, Liz invented and patented the Mio chest-strapless heart rate monitor watch to give people convenient, accurate insight into their physiology. Mio won accolades such as Sports Product of the Year at ISPO, the world’s largest sporting goods trade show. Her company and products received press coverage globally, including the front page of the Wall Street Journal where the Mio Slice was heralded for its novel and groundbreaking fitness metric Personal Activity Intelligence (PAI). The PAI metric, published in the American Journal of Medicine, is the gold standard for exercise prescription. It soon became it's own company, a cloud based solution for insurers looking to scientifically validate the health of their insured populations. Liz started her first company, Mio, in her basement and achieved worldwide distribution of her award winning products at retail (from QVC to Costco, Walmart and even Apple stores globally). She has been granted 15 patents and licensed her technology to companies like Garmin, TomTom and adidas.   She has keen experience in all aspects of business: from creating, financing and scaling start ups through exit;  new product development and launch; manufacturing; sales; marketing and every thing in between.
